Need a loan for your home business

Very few people can afford to start a business using nothing but the money they’ve got lying around in their bank accounts. For most of us, we’re going to need to get a loan before we’d have anywhere near enough money to invest in starting up. Your Credit History. You might not have realised that your credit history was going to count here, but it does. This is where all those late credit card payments come back to bite you. The better your credit history, the more likely a bank is to lend you money, and the better the rate it offers will be. Bank Loans. Banks usually have someone whose job it is to go through applications for business loans. These people have seen a thousand business plans, and they know what they’re looking for. Take along all your plans and any other supporting material you can put together. Make sure you present yourself at your most professional. Act like the most sensible and level-headed person you’ve ever met. This is, essentially, a job interview: the bank is interviewing you and your business to try and figure out whether it would be a safe place to put their money. Remember that they’re just like every investor, lending you money with the expectation that they will get it back, plus interest. Secured Loans. Of course, you’ll probably have a much easier time persuading a bank to lend you money if you put up something of your own as collateral in case you can’t pay the debt back. Some dodgy banks would really like you to secure your business loan on your house, since they know that the failure rate of start-ups is high and they’d really like to get their hands on it. Be cautious, in case you sign your life away. It is almost never worth starting a business if you can only get secured loans – you’re tying the business’ fortunes too closely to your own. Government Loans. As part of the push to support small businesses, there are now many government bodies that will offer no-interest or low-interest loans to small businesses, a category which includes home businesses. The government lot will obviously be even more picky about your business plan, but it’s still a good option to have available to you. Even better, these loans will often come with free help and advice from the agency that issues them, as well as all sorts of booklets and leaflets telling you the technical details of getting started. Credit Cards and Overdrafts. These forms of debt are a very bad idea. Whatever you do, do not finance your business with personal debt. You’ll have to make a massive profit just to pay back your debts, and it’s unlikely that you’ll manage to both pay them off and have enough money to live. If you can’t get a loan, try to find other investors instead. Friends and Family. Friends and family can be a surprisingly good source of loans to help start businesses, especially if they’re in the same industry themselves – they’ll be more than happy to help you get a foot on the ladder. You might be able to persuade someone to give you the money at a good rate of interest, or even to act as a ‘sleeping partner’, financing half of everything while leaving you to run it all. Be aware, though, that many friendships and families have been ruined by failed businesses. I had a friend who went around raising thousands from everyone he could think of to start a magazine of his own, only for it to crash and burn by the second issue. Be warned. Keep Trying. If you get turned down for a loan, keep trying (preferably at different banks!) You should revise your business plan each time, and try to get as many people as possible to read it – the more people who see it, the more ideas and suggestions you can hear. If your credit rating is fine, then the problem has to be with the business plan: fix it, and you’re set. Good luck.

Low interest rate new car loan tips for improving credit and getting a low rate

Auto loan rates for a new vehicle ranges from 1.9% to 9%. Those with an excellent credit rating can expect prime rates, whereas other loan applicants may pay more for their vehicles. Lenders use credit scores to determine an applicant’s interest rate. Hence, the key to acquiring a low rate auto loan is having a good credit rating. Steps to Take Before Applying for Auto Loan Before applying for an auto loan, it is important to know your credit standing. Sometimes, car dealerships make an offer with an extremely high interest rate. New car buyers may not recognize this scam and agree to bad loan terms. However, if your credit is good, you are entitled to prime loan rates. Furthermore, having bad credit does not justify a ridiculously high rate. Educate yourself on the car buying process. The internet is full of resources to help you determine current market rates for new and used vehicles. Tips for Improving Credit Your credit score is crucial to the car buying process. If you are hoping to snag a low interest rate on your new vehicle, now’s the time to build up your credit score. For starters, stop paying creditors late. In addition, do not skip monthly payments to creditor. Both actions have a destructive effect on credit. If you have several credit cards, pay down the balances. Individuals with excessive debt may consider a debt consolidation. Working with a debt management company is very effective. These companies negotiate lower interest rates on credit cards, which allow you to reduce debts sooner. Finance Automobile with a Down Payment Having a down payment is a great way to get approved for a low interest rate. If your credit is less than perfect, a down payment will definitely serve to your advantage. A down payment means you finance the vehicle for a lesser amount; thus, you can anticipate a lower monthly payment. Down payment amounts vary. However, typical amounts are approximately 10% of the vehicle price. Comparison Shopping for Best Financing Shopping around will help you locate the lowest financing on your new vehicle. If you have internet access, take advantage of online loan applications. Prior to completing a loan application, request loan figures from auto loan lenders. If you request quotes by means of an auto loan broker, you will be given multiple offers from different lenders. This is the simplest way to compare rates and terms before finalizing decision.

3 Things to watch out for with a cash out refinance mortgage loan

A cash out refinance mortgage loan is a great option if you have accrued a lot of equity in your home. If you owe $75,000 on a home that is worth $125,000, you could refinance the amount you owe and take up to $50,000 in a cash loan against the equity in your house. The money can be used to consolidate debts, do a remodeling project, or even invest. As great as a cash out refinance can be, there are a few things to think about before you decide to take out this type of loan. How high are the fees to refinance? Taking out a home equity loan usually costs less in fees than a refinance. Refinancing your home can cost you quite a bit when you consider higher loan fees and the possibility of points. If you already have a good interest rate on your loan, refinancing so that you can get a cash out option, might mean paying a higher interest rate on a new loan. In that situation, you might want to consider taking out a home equity loan instead of a cash out refinance mortgage loan. How fast do you need the money? When you take out a home equity loan, it takes less time to see your money. Often, it only takes 5 days to close. Cash out refinance mortgage loans can take a lot longer, so if you need the money immediately, it probably isn’t the best option. Protect yourself from scam artists. There are lenders that practice something called loan flipping. They convince you to refinance your house, taking out a bit of equity for a project or two. A few months later they approach you to refinance again, convincing you to take out more cash from the equity in your house. Their scheme is to keep having you refinance, tacking on large fees and possibly increasing your interest rate until you are so far in debt that you end up losing your house. This particular scam has been played against many elderly homeowners with devastating results. Taking cash against the equity in your house can be a wise move, but always compare taking a cash out refinance mortgage loan against the option of taking out a home equity loan and choose the plan that is best for you.
