The head of a movie company sits down with his or her executives and discusses potential movie deals that have optioned. They make a list of the prospects and then reduce the selection to a few they really feel have potential. The executives take that list and begin exploring ideas with creative staff and casting directors. The most promising films go into development with screen tests, costume and production and the film moves forward. The day comes when filming begins and a day when the filming ends. At that point the stars remain available for callbacks while the producer, director and editors begin the tedious work of capturing all the pieces and putting them together with effects and sound. Someone else has been busy with their own list. These marketing experts are locking in premier dates and additional screens for opening night. Other members of the marketing team are making lists for media interviews for the stars of the show. Still other team members are making lists for what media outlets will be used for advertising. I’m sure I missed a few lists somewhere, but the idea is that everyone develops lists. For instance, most stores will have information on file that lets their employees know who they don’t extend credit to or who they can’t accept a check from. All stores have a list of vendors. Service clubs and civic organizations have lists of those who have provided charitable giving and are likely to do so again. Political candidates have lists for contributors and those likely to support them in a public way. In each case these individuals worked organically to devise their list. They research prospects or draw from an already established pool. The success these individuals have with their lists is in direct proportion to their ability to make sure they have the best information for who should be contacted. When it comes to list building the same idea is applicable. You need to have a good handle on your recipients. This may mean you have to pay closer attention to detail. It may also mean that you only work with those who have either purchased your product or have expressed an interest in receiving information about your company. List building is not about the cold call, but rather is an extension of the tentative trust given by those on your list. Those who receive information from you should not express anger at receiving your email. They may not be interested at the moment, but they should recognize you as someone they have willingly done business with in the past and may be more than willing to do so again in the future. If we revisit the movie analogy we can see that there were multiple lists for multiple efforts in reaching one goal – a successful movie. As your business grows you may find that you may need to build more than one list to cover the more specific needs of your consumer base. Take time to manage sound list building strategies. Your efforts will be much more successful if you do.

Something to talk about how to reach brand advocates
Opinions Wanted Word-of-mouth advertising is still one of the most effective tools a marketer can wield — consumers trust other consumers’ opinions when it comes to choosing products. For Internet marketers, the online equivalent of word-of-mouth advertising is social media and brand advocacy. Seventy-six percent of online shoppers rely on feedback from other buyers when making product purchases. For products across the spectrum — from laundry detergents to breakfast cereals — Internet users are leveraging social media to connect with other users, who ultimately affect their buying decisions. Who Brand Advocates Are and Why They Matter A recent study by Yahoo revealed that of these shoppers, a certain set — sometimes labeled “brand advocates” — tends to be very influential in shaping social trends and buying habits. “Brand advocates are a group that has always existed,” explains Edwin Wong, senior manager of market research for SearchMarketing. Yahoo. “But web 2.0 tools are giving them more of a voice and extending their circles of influence.” This small segment of the population feels that good brands are worth talking about, and goes out of their way to recommend them. Even though these brand advocates comprise a small portion of your buyers, they’re an important portion because they carry a disproportionate influence among other consumers, and have an impact on your overall brand. This kind of virtual word-of-mouth advocacy is extremely effective, with brand advocates showing a two-to-one conversion rate. Once this group is convinced of your product’s worth, they have the passion and personality to make them your most effective sales force. Connecting Point: Hot Topics To connect with your niche market’s most vocal and influential buyers, you need to find out what their flash points are, and positioning your brand accordingly. Your goal is to take your traditional product, and make it about something that means more. For instance, if you vend nutrition bars, you might market them around ideals like lifestyle, health, and weight loss, which mean a great deal more to end users than just another snack. By connecting with online groups that focus on health and dieting, you’re reaching out to your target audience. Look at your niche market’s hot topics, and adjust your marketing message to speak to those issues. Connecting Point: Portal Sites Of all Internet shoppers, brand advocates tend to do the most online research and examine the widest range of options before choosing a product or brand. During this research process, you have an excellent opportunity to engage them, by providing the most in-depth, persuasive and illustrative information possible and putting it out on as many portals as possible. Portal sites provide social media outlets for users to share their opinions and passions; they also provide marketers a very neutral ground to tell consumers why their products are superior: • There are tens of thousands of enthusiast groups looking for like-minded people who love their brands, and tens of thousands of reviews available on nearly any product. • Blogs, online groups, product review sites and forums allow advocates to find brands and products they feel passionate about. Advises Wong, “These are very knowledgeable consumers, and you really want to engage them while they’re in their research process. You need to use every available means to connect with them, because these are the people that can move product for you and move the bottom line for your brand.”
Internet marketing the consumer is in control
I heard someone say recently that marketing is simply an elaborate scheme to take your money by making you feel incomplete without the product being sold. It is possible that this idea matches the way many people think about marketing. However, when it comes to Internet marketing there has been a shift in focus and the tables have been turned. The focus of marketing has shifted the salesman to consumer advocate. That may sound like a conflict in terms, but the truth is marketing for the sake of improved sales often results in a decreased bottom line and a state of distrust with prospects. The truth is we’re all tired of the quintessential marketing tactics that are high pressure and insist we are incapable of leading whole and productive lives without their product and or services. We have ingrained in our minds toothpaste commercials that seem to insinuate that we will be attractive to the most beautiful people if we just used their products. We’ve seen the car commercials that seem to indicate celebrities will be our friends if we drive a certain car and we all come away feeling as if the whole idea of marketing is simply a whole lot of hype about nothing. The Internet places decision-making back in the hands of the consumer. While there are some that attempt to place a heavy marketing hand in consumer purchases most sites have to simply rely on the usefulness and quality of their product and customer service to facilitate an environment where a purchase can be considered. The dynamics of face-to-face marketing are virtually eliminated in Internet marketing. Here’s the interesting part of the scenario; when you remove the pressure all you have left is the customer and how your product can connect with an actual need they may have. If a customer conducts a search for a product or service you can be assured they already have an interest in what you have to offer. You can accentuate the positive by providing knowledge-based content that helps them understand the scope of your product or service and how it may fit their needs. The more consumer centric your business website the better. In previous marketing endeavors the idea was to disarm the consumer and rush them toward a purchase they may regret later. This is what consumers recognize as marketing. When you honestly seek to put the customer first you will likely discover a better response long-term. You may also find repeat customers and referrals. Today’s consumer expects more and will keep looking until they find it. Frankly, consumers feel empowered when they are allowed to make a knowledgeable decision about a product they have researched and feel comfortable with. Consumers can take all the time in the world with the Internet. They can bookmark your website and return to it several times if they want to in an effort to ensure they are satisfied with what they are considering. These customers will also likely visit other sites as well so make sure to present your content with as much authority, integrity and honesty as possible. This works to assure the consumer that you are not blowing the products capabilities out of proportion. With Internet marketing the consumer is in control. Ignore this truth to your peril.

Could you send me some literature
...I love this one! The worst part is many sales people actually send it, when often it's nothing more than a polite blow off. I'll give some perspective on this request that will help you get more control of what you spend your time on and help you identify who you should really send literature to. First, let's define what literature really is and then determine the best way to use it. Literature is a marketing tool, not a selling tool! Let me repeat, literature is a marketing tool not a selling tool! What I mean by that is literature should be used to maintain awareness (leave behind after the call) or as a way to make impact quickly on a large group of people to flush out prospects (mass mailing) and create selling opportunities. Literature should not be used as a crutch in a selling situation when a prospect has shown "interest". Pulling out a piece of literature on a sales call will focus the prospects attention on the "piece" rather than on their problems. A request for literature on the telephone will often have the sales person do nothing more than "lengthen the selling cycle" by sending it and forcing an additional follow up call. As I have mentioned a request for literature is sometimes a blow off but it may be a request driven by real interest. Let's create a response that will help to "filter" out real interest from no interest. The key here is to not send literature but get more information. Try responding with: "Thanks, I'd be happy to send/get it to you, was there something specific you were trying to find out." or "There is a lot I can send you were you looking for something specific?" A "real" prospect will have a specific answer identifying what they have interest in. The "impostor" will usually respond with "nothing specific, just send what ever you have". Suddenly, by using a selling tool (question) rather than a marketing tool (literature) we might find out what they are after and have a discussion (face to face) or make an appointment (telephone call). Both of these situations have us moving the sale forward, or making an "advance". If, on the other hand, they have no specific interest at this time you could always send or leave literature as a leave behind awareness piece, aka marketing tool. Next time you get the request "send/leave literature", create a "filter" that will help you determine "prospect or time waster?" Bottom line, you'll stop wasting time and shorten your selling cycle!

Increase your websites traffic with articles
To have a successful website on the internet you need to accrue one way links. The search engines such as Google, Yahoo and others can detect link exchanges between sites and even the new triangular link exchanges. Then they devalue those links. Creating those one way links is the problem. It can be a very time consuming task. A one way link means that, another website chose to link to your site without reciprocation. The common reason would be that your site contains quality or unique content. The circular problem is, in order for someone to find the content on your site they first had to get there. In order for someone to find and appreciate your content, you need to increase the traffic to your site. More people need to see it. How can we make that happen? One way for people to get their websites seen is by writing articles. That and directory submissions are great way to bring visitors to your site. First this is to write an article about a topic that is somehow related to your website. If your website is related to scuba diving, your article should also be about scuba diving. It should be anywhere from 400 to 700 words in length. When the article is complete write a biography section. In fact, write about ten or twelve biography sections. Each bio should be different than the one before to establish diversity of content within the post. After your article is complete you will want to submit your article and bio to different article websites. Those websites are allowed to distribute the articles to other website owners looking for fresh content. They can reprint the article intact with your links in the bio section. So every time your article is published, it brings a new one-way link to your website. If you're looking for links look to directory reviews and article submissions. These are very valuable tools in establishing your online presence.
Seo how early seo corrupted the search engines
The practice of search engine optimization first came into being in the mid 1990s when the first search engines began cataloguing the contents of the Internet. Initially the entire procedure was fairly honest and a fair reflection of what content there was on the web. Sites were submitted to the search engines and a spider crawled the content and then stored the collected data in a database that could be accessed by individuals performing a search. When a search engine spider detects new content on the Internet it downloads a page where it is stored on the engine’s own server. Once on the server a second program, known as indexer extract information about the page as well as all of the links it contains. This page is then placed into a depository of pages to be crawled at a later date. At first, the information that ended up on these early search engines came from the webmasters who were trusted to be honest. Early versions of search algorithms relied on webmaster-provided information such as the keyword meta tag, or index files in engines like ALIWEB. Meta-tags provided a guide to each page's content. However the corruption of this system began when webmasters abused meta tags by including keywords that had nothing to do with the content of their pages, to artificially increase page impressions for their Website. This of course also increased their ad revenue from pay per clicks and costs per impressions. Greed soon led to inaccurate, incomplete cataloguing of web pages and too many people being led to pages without content or with misleading content when they conducted a web search. Search engines responded by developing more complex ranking algorithms with the result that understanding SEO has become much more complicated then it ever has been before and will continue to become more complicated.

How to start your own dog care home business
Do you love dogs? If you happen to love dogs, you might want to start a dog care home business. A lot of dog owners don’t have time to groom or walk their dogs that they will often rely on pet care businesses to do the job for them. Considering the number of dog owners in the country today, you will not really run-out of clients who will ask to groom and walk their dogs. Setting up a dog bath The first thing that you will need is a place where you can bath and groom dogs. If you live in a house with a big lawn, you may want to set up a place where you can bath dogs. Never attempt to bath dogs, especially the big once inside your house. Dogs love to wiggle around and shake their hair during baths thus creating a huge mess. Playful and rowdy big dogs are adorable but when they start running around your house in their wet coats, things will not really look very funny at all so keep them out of the house. There is no point of wasting a lot of energy cleaning after a wet dog. When setting up a dog bath, a tub or a huge basin, a garden hose, some dog soap, shampoo, a brush and some cotton towels. You don’t really need something elaborate when bathing dogs. Certainly not those pet washers that torture the poor things. Some experts believe that using pet washers where you simply put the dog inside a box and turn on the water cause emotional trauma on the dogs and must not be used at all. Well, who wouldn’t be traumatized if they were put inside a closed box with water gushing all over the place? If you want to bath dogs, forget about the pet washer and do things the old fashioned way. Dogs love it when you brush their coat and massage them. Besides, bathing a dog the old fashioned way could be a lot of fun for you too. Setting up a grooming area For grooming dogs, select a quite area inside the house. Of course you can set-up a grooming area outside of the house if you want to but grooming a dog inside the house is lot better. First, most dogs are less playful when they are inside the house than when they are in the yard, second, there are less distractions inside the house and third, it would be easier on your part to store all your grooming stuff. For grooming dogs, you will need the following materials; a table, towels, cotton, mineral oil, eye ointment, nails clippers and a brush. You can easily get all these stuff at your favorite pet shop.

Success depends on effective internet marketing services
Ebusiness is a rapidly-growing industry that can turn a nice profit for any business. The internet is a valuable tool and resource for companies and business ventures, but one drawback of the internet is fierce, world-wide competition that makes survival crucial to staying successful. While many individuals choose to build their own ebusiness and create websites to sell their products and services, effective marketing is the only reason companies survive. Most people don’t have the skills or knowledge on how to securely promote their company to stay above the pack. Getting lost in the virtual world and missing out on sales from potential clients due to stiff competition winning out means that strong internet marketing services are imperative for long-term success. One of the most important factors in having a successful ebusiness is achieving hits from surfers and readers to promote website popularity and boost ranks in search engines. A simple search returns thousands, sometimes millions, of links and most individuals only consider the first page of link returns that their search engine provides. Solid internet marketing services means that your ebusiness rises in rank towards that all-important first page of search engines. Ultimately, strong internet marketing services mean profits, income, recognition and awareness to increase your enterprise’s popularity and securely root your site where it needs to be. There are many ways to boost your site’s popularity. Article marketing is the latest trend, and having excellent articles that are search-engine optimized using careful keyword placement, all the while having documents that maintain an informed, professional and interesting appeal, drastically improve your website’s chances of success. However, article marketing requires high-quality writing, is time-consuming and has to be continually analyzed for results and adjusted to be the most effective possible. Having a professional company handle your article marketing strategy is the only way to contend with your competitors and meet challenges head-on, unless you plan to invest a large amount of time and effort that ultimately keeps you tied up and away from landing sales. Blogs are another strong internet marketing service that has shown to be popular with Generation X and younger individuals. Blogging is similar to article marketing, in that articles relevant to your enterprise and ebusiness need to be distributed widely and effectively across the virtual world. The continual stream of information blogs provide responds perfectly to the Generation X population’s need for fast, concise information. The results of blog marketing have proven to be an excellent method of boosting website search engine ranking and popularity, drawing in clientele. But again, as with article marketing, the time and need for top-quality appeal is crucial to effective blog marketing and most business owners need to focus on their own company. Leaving the promotion and marketing to professionals so that you have your hands free to deal with your business saves you both time and money, factors that are imperative to business survival. Press releases are another strong way to boost search engine ranking, drawing thousands of readers and potential clients to your website. Press releases that are properly written to catch attention and carefully placed to maximize exposure improve your company’s reputation. Showing clients who you are and what you can offer, as well as impressing them with solid business tactics and strategies, will provide your website with a steady stream of traffic to increase your chances of getting known in the virtual world. While the time and effort of creating and submitting press releases is lower than article and blog marketing, only the highest-quality press releases get noticed by consumers and consulting professional internet marketing services for the best results is a smart business choice. Choosing a reputable internet marketing services for your business is important. While you want to concentrate on your clients, sales and landing potential contracts or customers, you need to have confidence in the promotion companies you deal with. Make sure to ask plenty of questions about the options any marketing business provides and take the time to discuss both costs and results with internet marketing service providers. Qualifications and experience are important, so be sure that the marketing company you deal with has the knowledge to perform effective analysis and adapt changes, as well as having a solid, strong network that places your business where individuals will take notice. Dealing with professionals that save you time and money, providing tangible results that boost your ranking and sales, will be one of the wisest choices you make for your business success.

Kids toys for travel
The school summer holidays are fast approaching. Six long weeks of keeping the kids amused. Are you dreading those long drives to the coast etc? And the kids always shout "I'm bored" or "Are we there yet?" Well fear not, the solution is simple, why not stack up on travel games! They're big enough to keep the kids quiet, yet small enough to fit in the tiniest space, even a handbag. Also suitable for boat, train and plane travel. There are old favorites like, Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Backgammon, Checkers and Solitaire. No need to worry about pieces going missing as they are magnetic, so they don't fall off the board and onto the floor or down the side of seats. They pack away easily so there's no fuss. You can buy as a complete set or individually. Activity books are also great when traveling. Some come as an activity pack, that includes crayons and their own plastic wallet, these have coloring in, puzzles and games. Ideal for the younger ones. Dice even playing cards, can be put into a pocket they can be used anywhere even on the floor. Other travel games such as, Monopoly, Scrabble, Othello, Connect 4, Battleships, Cluedo and Trivial Pursuit are smaller versions of the original board game. These don't have magnetic pieces. They can be stored in car door pockets, or in children's backpacks, to be played on planes, trains and boats, as well as in the car. Of course you don't have to pay for keeping the kids quiet, you could always make up games of your own, such as Geography, you take it in turns, starting from the letter A then B and so on, you can use countries, towns, street names, and villages. Or you could use the last letter of the previous word for the next one, either of these are great fun when you get to the letter Y, as it gets harder. Or you could take paper and pen and make your own crosswords. There's also I Spy. Travel games can be bought at toyshops, online, even newsagents and supermarkets have started stocking them. The magnetic ones are $2-$3 each, and the miniature ones range from $6 to around $15. The complete sets vary from stockist to stockist. These games are not expensive, but well worth investing in, just to keep everyone happy and relaxed. Have a great summer!
Shared and trade advertising
One of life's basic rules goes something like this: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. That can be the case with used cars and blind dates. But every once in a while you'll find a great deal that actually turns out to be a great deal. Generally speaking, the price of a product or service is directly related to quality. Higher priced goods are better quality, while poorer quality fetches a lower price. Past experience can lead to prejudice, status can determine value, and both can hike costs. No one should have to settle for second-best because of budget constraints, especially small business owners. Fortunately, there are creative ways to get both great quality and affordable prices. If you have a product to offer, but don't have a large advertising budget, there are different ways to get the effective advertising you need. Shared Advertising Sometimes other businesses are willing to share advertising expenses with you. By sharing your resources, you'll both target more customers for less money. Don't worry if the products or services cater to the same market, although naturally the ad will be more effective for both parties if it's targeting a shared market. As long as both products offer different benefits, and you are not direct competitors, this method can work very well. You should be able to differentiate your product to make it address a particular need. Remember that the sole purpose of this ad is to get exposure for your product. The principle of shared advertising is one of the oldest in the books, perhaps as old as trade itself. The Internet is a great resource of shared advertising. By placing your advertisement on another individual's or company's website, and returning the favour, both parties will receive double the exposure and frequency of hits. Again, shared advertising is most effective if it appeals to the same target audience. It goes without saying that an ad for senior's health products may not get great results if paired with a punk rock clothing store. Small businesses often encounter big budget blocks when dealing with ad agencies. It's a catch-22, because you can't make money until your product has been advertised and sold, but the agency won't advertise your product until you have the money to pay. There are no guarantees in advertising, because so many variables determine whether or not a product will sell. When your advertising budget is limited, you can register with a joint venture facilitator to be matched to another party with similar needs. Trade Advertising Also called "bartering", trade advertising is exchanging your product for advertising space. Bartering for ads can give small businesses excellent opportunity and value beyond what they could normally get, even with a bigger budget. Advertising on the radio, cable and your local newspapers or magazines can give a definite perceived value for your product; but by trading your goods or services, you haven't spent a bit of cash. Many station managers and publishers, especially local media, need products or services that you may be able to provide. It's a win-win situation. Even more value can be found in an endorsement agreement. Convincing a radio or television host to endorse your product is the best form of advertisement you can get. You will provide the host with your products or services up to an agreed amount, and he or she will say wonderful things about your company on the air. You can't put a price on this type of broadcasting power. If you don't have a formal agreement in place, you can often gain an on-air "thank you" just by dropping off some sample products. For example, if you're in the restaurant business, drop off some sandwiches or pizzas for free on-air kudos. Some stations or publishers will offer trade at full face value, others will consider a half trade-half cash agreement, and some might not barter at all. Don't be afraid to ask. Getting started is the toughest part of owning a business. You need to be able to expose your product or service to as many people for as little cost as possible. Trade and shared advertising are two ways to take advantage of big opportunities for your small business.

The handbook for self motivation
The success or failure of your internet home business is dependent on different concepts. Some of these ideas are beyond your control but others are within your grasp. Before attempting to make money online you need to determine your level of self-motivation. The achievements of a work from home business come from the ability to arouse the commitment for success that must come from inside of you. How would you rate your self-motivation? Is it non-existent, small, average, tall or towering? If you want a home based business opportunity to succeed, motivation must rest between tall and towering. Non-existent self-motivation means non-existent internet profits. Small self-motivation translates into small online profits and so on. After you make the decision to create an online internet business, sit down and do some self evaluation. If your self motivation is non-existent, small or average, don’t lose heart. If you have a desire to develop an internet home business, it can be done. The ability to adjust the level of your effort is not that difficult. The key ingredient is a willingness to change. Self motivation is a trait or an ability that helps one find the ambition to start, the incentives to continue and the resiliency to persevere. When developing your work at home adventure no one is telling you what to do, how to do it or when to do it. You are alone on this journey and finding the motivation for home business success is your responsibility. Self-motivation is starting, continuing and persevering. The ability to apply these concepts will increase your opportunity for work from home success. To find or increase a desire for creating a home business, revisit your self evaluation. Ask yourself what brings value to your life. Is it your comfort, your lifestyle, your future? What you regard as precious brings meaning and importance into your life. After determining what is important, consider improving the significance of this feature. This is an important step for finding or increasing self motivation. If you want to take self effort to the next level, purpose that the important things in your life are worth improving. Without this desire, motivation will stay low. After deciding to enhance these areas, give motivation the opportunity to grow by developing a goal. The determination to create a home based business is driven by your desire to retire at 45. Web design simplicity and focus
Web design can be a bit like being handed a box of watch parts with the instruction manual that reads, “Put contents together completely.” You turn the instructions over looking for more information, but come back to the singular line, “Put contents together completely.” No matter how long you try to put the watch together you will find it virtually impossible without step-by-step instructions. Unlike a manual for a watch, web design can be constructed in a variety of ways using the same components. For instance the layout can be constructed in a variety of ways, the color scheme can be original to your own personality and tastes and you determine how large or small the site needs to be. Web Design is often pursued like a person seeking to build a home out of spare lumber. You keep hammering and patching using whatever you come across in the hopes the site is better for your diligence. Web building software can allow you to experiment, but articles such as this one can help point you to better tools and quality construction products. Knowledge-Rich Content The use of value added content for your site is impressive to both consumer as well as search engines. The consumer values your interest in passing along information that may prove useful in understanding your products and services and how best to use what you offer. Search engines value the use of keyword specific content in determine the rankings of your site. Ease of Navigation Seek to make sure site visitors can get from one place on your website to another in the fewest clicks possible. Make clean avenues of navigation a high priority for web design. Knowing When Not to Overdo it Many websites attempt to develop their website into something bigger and better than anything you may have seen before. They may include flash and flash animation along with other extravagant design elements. In the end the site can seem to swirl with sights, sounds and colors that can leave some feeling a little green. Over development of a site is really not essential to the ultimate success of the site. Keeping things clean and attractive my do more good than developing a stage and insisting that 12 acts perform at the same time. Decide What’s Important In your web design you may want to place a variety of items that you find personally fulfilling, but it is important to determine if those items are a clean fit to the overall focus of the site. If they don’t fit you might be interested in developing a secondary personal site that can be linked from your primary site so visitors can get to know more about you and the things you value as personal interest dictates. Get Out the Red Pen Be willing to edit heavily. Strip your site of all the non-essentials. This could be content, photos, excessively long product descriptions or other content. Ask yourself if the site visitor can scan your content easily. Include headings, subheadings and bullet points when possible to assist them in this goal. Find every reason possible to allow your customer to remain keyed in to your site. Web design begins and ends with an eye toward simplicity and focus.

How to build your mailing list as quickly as possible
“Gold is in your mailing list.” You’ve heard many veteran internet marketers and established gurus preach these very words time and time again, and for good reasons at that. It has been established as a fact that most of your sales would come after the 4th to the 8th contact. But before you could ensure that you’ll be able to keep in touch with your prospects for such number of times, you’d have to capture their contact details first. This is accomplished through an opt-in list. An opt-in list, basically, is a system that would allow you to capture the contact details of your visitors. The way it works is that your visitors would be presented the choice to leave their contact details (usually their email addresses) so that you could follow up on them later on. This is the reason why an opt-in list is also called as a follow-up system. An opt-in list is essential for your online business. For starters, as we have discussed in the statistics above, most of your sales won’t come after the first contact. Your prospects should be given time to warm up to your offer. You’d have to contact them again, and again, and again, to assure them of your credibility and to make them believe that your offer would be truly beneficial for their needs. Also, they may not be interested with your current offer, but this shouldn’t be taken to mean that they won’t be interested with what you could come up with in the future. An opt-in list would allow you to contact them for the future deals you will bring to the table. There is no doubt that a follow-up system, or a mailing list, or an opt-in list, whatever you want to call it, would be very important for your success in the online field. But the question is: how do you build the same? I will not sugarcoat any answers. A lot of internet marketers are struggling to acquire subscribers for their mailing lists. They may have been in the business for a couple of years already, yet their mailing lists are composed of only a dozen or so subscribers. If we are to peg an average, the conversion rate of your mailing list would hover around the range of 1% to 3.5%. Hence, the success of your mailing list would greatly depend on the number of users who would decide to subscribe to the same. If you only have 10, 15 or 20 subscribers, you won’t be able to make the most out of this system. So again, how do you build your mailing list? How will you be able to acquire thousands upon thousands of subscribers at the soonest possible time? There is only one answer to give. It’s not even a secret, as it is quite simple. Incentive. Your visitors should be given a reason to sign up with your mailing list. You cannot just expect them to leave their email addresses without receiving anything in return, right? If you were in their shoes, would you even bother to give out your contact details without deriving something from it? The mistake that most internet marketers make is that they expect people to sign up by simply promising future updates. This isn’t enough incentive. People need something more than that, something valuable, something that is very much worth their time. If you will be able to give them such in exchange for their subscription, you’d be able to boost your number of subscribers really fast. Here are some incentives that are guaranteed to work: • Ezines or newsletters. Information is always a valuable commodity in the World Wide Web. If you could commit to create and deliver a regular eZine or newsletter for them, you’d be able to win their subscription and eventually their trust. Just make sure that your eZine or newsletter would be of premium quality. • Freebies. Who would say no to something that is offered for free, right? It may be an eBook, a special report, a PLR product, a software program or another kind of digital item which your prospects could download in exchange for their subscription. • Contests. You could offer a valuable digital product as a prize for a random drawing, with your prospects’ subscriptions serving as their raffle entries. Any of the suggestions above are sure to make your prospects take notice. And as such, you’d have greater chances of bagging their subscription and building your mailing list to enormously profitable levels. NOTE: You have full permission to reprint this article within your website or newsletter as long as you leave the article fully intact and include the "About The Author" resource box. Thanks! :-

What to look for in an home air purifier
It is very important for people who suffer allergies and those with babies or elderly invalids at home to invest in an air purifier. For an air purifier to work well it has to a high clean air delivery rating (CADR). It is expressed in terms of cubic feet per minute; so that a 500 CADR means that the filter can release 500ft3 of clean air per minute. Air purifiers use different means to clean the air. Some techniques are more effective against some pollutants than others. Here are some of them. Air purifiers commonly use filters to remove particles in the air. A purifier with an HEPA (high efficiency particle air filter) sign means that it can remove even the smallest particles. Be aware that HEPA enabled devices need to remove 99.97 % of particles and nothing less otherwise it may not be an accurate representation of what you are looking for. If the ad says HEPA-like or HEPA-type then it may not be hat you should be buying. Other filters use carbon. Carbon is highly porous and can absorb chemical in the smallest forms that is why it is good for filtering water. It can be used together with an HEPA filter. Some other filters use ultra violet light. In sterilization, ultra-violet light is used to kill bacteria and can eliminate 99.9 % of bacteria and viruses. Another alternative is to use ultra-violet light bulbs that will also sterilize the air indoors. They need to be replaced yearly. Ionizers are another breed of air purifiers. They produce ions that attach themselves to air borne particles which are then attracted to an electronically charges collector plate. Ozone is another way to clean the air in homes but can only be used in unoccupied rooms. Ozone is a strong oxidant and can oxidize other chemicals and can remove odour and smoke. Other concerns for customers of air purifiers are the noise levels and any by-products produced by air purifiers. This noise level can easily be obtained by trying the air purifier in the store or asking customer service. The cost of operating the air purifier will of course be an interest and this relates to the cost of replacing the filters if any are used or the amount of power needed to operate it. For power consumption look for an air purifier with the energy star symbol as this indicates that it is energy efficient so it will use less than other brands that do not carry the sign.

Six ways to build trust
Building trust and confidence in your buyer is very important if you are going to make that sale online. Here are some great ideas that will add a great deal of confidence in your site. -- Who are you? Give as much information as you can regarding who you are. How long you have been in business? If you can provide a picture and short autobiographical sketch of yourself...especially details that relate to your online qualifications and credentials. -- How do I contact you? Do you have a brick-and-mortar operation ? If so, let's see a picture of the building together with it's exact mailing address, fax number, phone number, and e-mail address. If you have staff members, include them in the picture. -- How will you use my information? What is your privacy statement regarding my personal information ? How will you use the information that I provide you as a customer? Give them some assurance on your "Privacy Page" that their information is safe with your company...that it will never be shared with others for any reason. -- Is my transaction online safe? Your orders should all be processed over a secure server. Tell the customer how they will know that this is the way you take orders and how they will know it is secure by looking for "https" in the URL at the order page. Always give them other ordering options including fax and especially telephone orders. Customers feel very reassured talking with a real, live person when ordering online. -- Testimonials page? If you have some testimonials from former customers, show them to us on a separate page of your site. Be sure to protect those people who make testimonials and only share their contact information with their permission. -- FAQ section? Most sites have a number of typical, repeat questions. You may cover most of these by including an FAQ page on your site. It sure does cut down a lot on those messages that you have answered a hundred times. Another way you can save some time and effort, is by setting up f*ee autoresponders which will answer most relevant questions. Having as much information about you, your business, and contact details are all a part of providing your customer a safe, trustworthy and reliable means of doing business with someone online. -- Larry Johnson BizSiteBiz
Double d dedication and discipline
Operating a work at home business requires a lot of dedication and discipline. Do you know that one of the most common reasons why home businesses fail is that the person running the business should never have began in the first place. Everyone does not have the dedication and, more importantly, the discipline that is required to run their own business out of their home. They will soon find out that working their own hours and staying home all day, everyday is simply the rosy picture painted by the stories about being in business for yourself. Running your own home-based business involves a person to handle production, orders, sales, billing and all other departments needed to keep a business working properly. When you first start out in a work at home business, you will be the person who will most likely do all the work - it will not take you very long to come to terms with just how much time and effort is needed to get everything done. There is also the promise that usually comes with home-based businesses about having the time and money to spend on holidays and having more time to spend with the family. While the business is still young, that is just out of the question. Time will be spent with the family though. However, normally it is while you remind them that you are working and need to be left alone. The most significant adjustment when you start a home business is letting friends and family know that while you are at home, you are actually working. If your business can be worked on completely from home, it is best to have a separate office in which to work from - an area that must be kept off limits to other family members during your work hours, so you can focus on your task without any interruption whatsoever. Successful home business operators have suggested getting a watchdog to sit at the entrance of your office in order to keep disturbances to a bare minimum. This goes to show the importance of treating your home office as if you were working for someone else – so please always keep this in mind. With the majority of work at home business opportunities, you can set your own work hours. If possible, it will make your home life much simpler if you choose work hours around your family’s schedule. If there are hours when you are at home alone, that should be prime time in which you complete most of your work. It is likely that you have heard stories about people working at home in their pajamas. While this opportunity may be available to you, this isn’t a good idea. You will need to make your work schedule, like you would if somebody else was writing your cheques and then work your schedule. Your clients/customers are paying you to deliver them a product/service on time. You will need to present professionalism to yourself as well as to potential clients. By being at work when you are scheduled to be, you can get the promised work done in a timely manner and gain new customers based on your reputation.
Finding internet home business opportunities requires research
Due to the increasing growth of the internet, home business opportunities are continuing to grow and become more available to wider variety of users. Being able to work at home and still make a decent living is a dream that only a few people have realized, but for many more, simply finding the right opportunity for them can mean a difference between making a decent income and making outrageous money. There are still many chances to make money through internet home business opportunities, but there are also many offers that only offer the opportunity to spend money and make others richer. The key to finding the one that can live up to the promises made is to look at each offer with an appropriate amount of skepticism and know exactly what the company will offer for your financial participation. There is nothing unusual about charging a small fee to become part of something bigger. Whether it involves selling a product or service, the online company has a fairly hefty investment in developing their product or service as well as the web page on which it is settled. Many of the opportunities to develop and income from an online business are very similar to the franchising done with brick-and-mortar companies, with many of the franchisees paying an initial franchise fee as well as monthly fees. The fees charged are used to continue advertising and marketing efforts as well as future development of newer products or services. It also helps with brand protection as franchisees are forbidden by contract to offer anything that is not authorized by the main company. With many of the internet home business opportunities similar restrictions are part of their agreement and provided their conditions are met and their marketing plan followed, franchisees have a great chance to find success. While most people looking to work at an online business understand the notion of putting little effort into the opportunity will result in little return, there are some who believe that once in internet business is up and running, they can sit back, watch television and eat bon-bons all day long. They key to succeeding at an internet home business is to realize that it is called work for a reason. In order to be successful, the owner has to work. Consider that with a brick-and-mortar franchise, those targeted by advertising will usually visit the location closest to their home. In some instances, individual franchise owners will sponsor charity events or other activities at their individual location to draw people into their specific business. With an online business, marketing is targeted towards a global audience and if the business is located solely online, visiting the nearest geographic location is not a concern of the customers. Each franchise owner will need their own form of marketing to help web surfers find their individual location.
